Route 66

It was hard to say goodbye to the Grand Canyon. I felt like we had become friends after all the time we spent together. However next adventure was awaiting. Route 66!! What an amazing surprise and experience it was to go to Route 66! We drove on it for a little while and got to a small strip with cafes and shops. We had lovely food and amazing cake from this one cafe. After our cafe visit, we walked down the strip looking in all the stores. It was really cool. It was old fashioned themed and everything had a Route 66 symbol on it. We saw loooaaads of bikers, bikes and leather. The bikers were very friendly. I always think they are the most decent and polite people contrary to popular belief and unlike the Sons of Anarchy plot, haha!

We were walking for a while and there was lots and lots of grasshoppers. There was, like, a million small ones that you couldn't see because they looked just like the asphalt until they jumped and it was the scariest thing! I even saw two grasshoppers that was about 15cm long and huge. As big as the one I saw in Portugal, but looked completely different. The one I saw in Portugal was fat and bright green with small legs. These ones were skinny with long legs and dull darker colours. I was basically hopping around and dancing away to avoid all the grasshoppers. It must have been a funny sight and not to mention my many screams and cries for help... Hahaa!
